Sanyo PDG-DXL2500 projector has white dots on the projector screen?
Then you are in the right place to purchase the Sanyo PDG-DXL2500 projector DMD chip to fix the white spots on the projector image.
What is white dots on projector image
In the first place, let’s know what is the projector DMD chip and how does it work.
The projector DMD chip also knows as DLP chip. Its full name is the digital micromirror device. Significantly, each DMD chip has several hundred thousands of microscopic mirrors on its surface. In the meantime, each micromirror works independently, rotated ±10-12 to on or off state. While the micromirror in the on state, the projector light will be reflected into the lens and appear bright on the screen. In contrast, you a dark pixel will appear on the screen.
In other words, each digital micromirror contained in the chip stands for each pixel on the screen. To put it differently, if your DLP projector’s native resolution is 1,024 x 768, the projector DMD chip contains 786,432 micromirrors to control the pixels to be bright or dark.
For this reason, if one or some of the micromirrors is broken, the pixels will be appearing as white dots like the image below.
What causes the projector DMD chip to be damaged
High wattage light from the projector bulb project on the DMD chip, the chip surface will become very hot. Notably, if the projector is dusty inside, its cooling system stuck, the projector inside will become hotter as new. After the time, some of the tiny micromirrors will get stuck because of the high temperature. And finally causes the DLP chip to fail in a long period.
For this reason, we should keep the projector work in a clean and dry environment. Check the projector cooling fans are running in good condition and clean the projector air filter for some period.
Can the Sanyo PDG-DXL2500 dead pixels be fixed
The only solution to fix the white dots on projector screen is replacing a new Sanyo PDG-DXL2500 projector DMD chip. The Texas Instruments (TI technology) manufactured this Sanyo PDG-DXL2500 projector DLP chip to use as a replacement and works the same as coming with the projector. Texas Instruments is the only company who produce the DLP chip.
